Hay Fever

It’s LOATHESOME being looked after. Last year, Judith retired from her life-on-stage. Already, she misses the applause. Idling away at their country home, the rest of the family – reclusive novelist husband David and failure-to-launch children Sorrel and Simon – are too self-involved to be a good audience. So, Judith invites a young fan as her guest for the weekend. But unbeknownst to her, each of the Blisses have a guest of their own arriving at the very same time. Completely unsuited to hosting and allergic to compromise, the house quickly erupts into a chaos of parlour games, put-downs and unrequested encores.

Excellent.. but herby fag smoke in my eyes and throat was a distraction !
Only herby fag smoke distracts from this top class show! Avoid the front rows but if you miss this and the stellar cast you will regret for years to come! 99/100

Delightful ! British theatre at its best.
Christine Baranski and Richard E Grant’s performances in this Noel Coward classic are not to be missed. Simply delectable.

Noel Coward at his sparkling best
We saw the second preview night so it was a little off pace but is going to grow into itself. Fabulous set, sparkling dialogue and quintessential Noel Coward bite. A thoroughly enjoyable evening.

Christine Baranski Disappointing
Everyone particularly Baranski couldn’t be heard from Row P. They should have been properly amplified (so many speakers at footlights and under balcony). Pacing sluggish; energy very low. Baranski so underplayed (director’s fault?). We thought this was going to be the highlight of our London visit.
